Melia's 4th Spartan!

Does anyone else’s kids love challenge races? My oldest daughter loves it!! I’ve started my kids into these type of races since they were allowed too, which I believe is 3 years of age. Melia, has now completed 4 Spartan races and Avery has completed 2 Spartan Races. They both have also raced in the Terrain Race, which is very similar to the Spartan Race.

We of course made it to the race with minutes to spare. Whoever races in these type of events, know you need at least 30 minutes to be able to get the waiver(s) filled out, pick up your gear, and warm up… luckily we made it just on time.

Quick trip to California

Redondo Beach Pier

Right after attending my husbands grandmother’s funeral, we were literally back home for part of the day, or I should say night, then had to go to California for a quick trip. We love going to California for a quick get-a-way. The beach is there, family, and so many other things to do there for the kids. However, this trip was a little bit different. This time, we went to visit my aunt who is a dentist, which meant cleanings! You’re probably thinking, you travel all the way to California just for a cleaning!?! Well, yes! When you have an aunt who is awesome at what she does, then yes, we travel to California just for her to do our teeth and make them pretty and healthy!

Unexpected Trip to Arizona

IMG_7278When planning out a trip, most trips come with good times, laughter, smiles, memories, etc. right? Unfortunately, this trip wasn’t most trips. We received news that my husband’s grandma passed away right before us flying out to go visit her, as she became ill. We had so many mix emotions. Not only was she my husband’s grandma, but she was my kids great grandma. Our original plan was to fly out to Arizona for the funeral, but of course my luck didn’t go as planned…

Daddy/Daughter Date down the drain…

When is comes to ‘bonding time’ with your kid(s)/grandchildren/or anyone special in your life, do you do anything special to spend time together? My husband and I always like to make sure we do family days, whether if we spend time at the park, eat at a restaurant, do a fun activity, go to the movies, etc. But, we also like to do mommy/daughter dates and daddy/daughter dates. We’ve done these in the past, and our kids really enjoy our special bonding time together. I personally think it’s important to have that individual bonding time with them, so that way you have that connection individually with them.

So over the weekend my oldest daughter, Melia, asked if we can do a mommy/daughter date and daddy/daughter date. I immediately jumped into saying yes, since it was a long while since we’ve done one. Continue reading “Daddy/Daughter Date down the drain…”

Valentine’s Day Surprise..For Him!

What does Valentine’s Day mean to you? It’s a day that a lot of women/men look forward too, some absolutely hate it, and some just think it’s an ordinary day. For those who love it, it’s a day where we feel special. Even though we should always be loved and pampered, sometimes are lives do get very hectic and that can’t always happen, which is when Valentine’s Day comes into play. Now most of the time, Valentine’s Day is mostly planned by our men or significant other, but does it always have to be our significant other spoiling and pampering us? I think not.

This year I decided to plan everything myself. My husband has been such a great supporter over the years, and especially within the last couple of months with my decision of leaving my job. So I wanted to make our day extra special.

What did we do? Well I’m sure you know what happened allll night long…

Weightloss Struggle…

“Know this: You can start over each morning”

The subject that most overweight people hate talking about. Some hate hearing the stories or “excuses”, some who have accomplished their goals use their accomplishments to help and inspire others, and some are just stuck and need a helping hand or push. At least this is how I see it. Let’s be real, being overweight (like myself) is not easy. However, I know that I’ve done this to myself and only have myself to blame. I’m working to better myself, be healthier, and to lose the weight. I know going into this you have to be mentally prepared for making a change otherwise it will never work. You have to want it. So here I am, mentally prepping myself and ready to make a change.

1st annual Snowboard Trip! Was it a success or a fail?

January 19th – January 21st 2018

Processed with VSCO with a4 preset

What started out being only 6 adults and 3 kids that planned on going, ended up being 12 adults and 10 kids. Our very first snowboard trip as a whole family and celebrating my cousins 25th birthday. Being the planner of this whole trip was a bit stressful to tell you the truth, but definitely was worth it in the end even with a set back. However, I’m not sure if snow trips are really in my favor. Our very first snowboard trip with just me and my husband I hit my head while snowboarding, our 2nd trip I was pregnant with my oldest daughter (so I had to watch my husband snowboard the whole time, which was torture), and well the 3rd time (the most recent trip) I left Utah with a sprained ankle. Yup you heard that right…
